December

December

Welcome winter in December by warming your heart to friends and family. Don’t forget to feed your feathered friends and woodland creatures. The Farmer’s Almanac suggests that this winter could be the coldest St. Louis has seen in a very long time. December 3rd is Earmuff Day so fight the cold in your favorite pair of earmuffs.

Rising Star Month

This world wide month promotes personal life planning by encouraging people to celebrate their past success and reach for the stars, by looking at their future success in year long blocks. The first year they celebrate the month by developing a plan that considers family, friendships, work, faith, education, health, sports, and entertainment. Then every subsequent year they evaluate, modify, and institute their revised plan. So, every December people reach for the stars as they develop or revise their life plans.

Helmets and Mouth Guards

Sports safety is a very important thing to think about when getting involved with any sport. In the past it was seen as un- cool to wear a helmet when riding a bike, but in some cities in the US laws are passed to enforce the importance of wearing one for your safety. By spending $20 on a bike helmet, you could not only save yourself from a concussion but also your life. When playing any sports where you could get hit in the mouth a mouth guard is needed. People don’t realize that wearing a mouth guard decreases the odds of injury to your lips teeth and even your brain. When protective mouth wear is worn correctly, it can decrease the chance of getting a concussion. Mouth guards can range anywhere from $5-$150, but rehabilitation costs for a single tooth knocked out can surpass the price of a custom-made mouth guard by 20 times. Ninja Day

December 5th, is the Day of the Ninja. Lurking behind every mask on this day hides the face of a ninja. On this day we give thanks to these special masters of the art of sneak attack. To celebrate this special day, wear all black and make sure not to forget the mask. Hold a ninja themed party and make sure all of your guests know how to arrive stealth fully. Have ninja noodles and pose like a ninja for photos. Remind the photographer to be fast because it’s almost impossible to catch a ninja on film.

Bath Tub Party Day

Most people today don't have time for a leisurely bath. We barely have time for a quick shower! Well December 5th is different. "Bathtub Party Day" is a time to immerse yourself in a long leisurely bath.
